Breaking open a warm piece of bread and dousing it in olive oil, herbs and spices will never get old. Ever. Extra virgin olive oil is a gift and enjoying it this way allows you to really taste the bold flavor olives have to offer. I dressed it up by adding toasted pine nuts, chili flakes, herbs and spices to create a bold dip for a treasured bread.

Pine Nut Bread Dip

Ingredients

  • cup toasted pine nuts
  • ½-1 tbsp chili flakes
  • tsp dried parsley 
  • tsp oregano
  • tsp pepper
  • tsp salt
  • ½ tsp balsamic vinegar
  • cup olive oil / more to your liking
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  • Dry toast pine nuts in a skillet on low flame
  • Keep them moving to toast evenly
  • After a few minutes, they should be lightly golden, remove from heat
  • Add all ingredients into a small dish
  • Serve!
