Love Salad w/ Miso Lime
Before leaving Los Angeles; I created an LA Food Tour for my youtube channel. I went around to my favorite restaurants to show you my top eats.
Along the way; I stopped at Love Organic. This is a sweet plant-based restaurant tucked off of Santa Monica Boulevard, in West Hollywood.
Until this day; I hadn’t quite thoroughly enjoyed tropical fruit in a green salad. After trying one dish on their menu; it was like a spark had been lit.
This one experience opened up a world of creation in my mind. This recipe is inspired by their Kyoto Salad. I named my salad after their restaurant and although my recipe is different in many ways; I had to pay tribute to where it pulses from!
This salad is vibrant. Very vibrant. Loaded with fresh leaves and fruits – you’re eating the rainbow. I made a lime + miso dressing that was inspired from Love Organic’s Yuzu dressing.
Yuzu is a hybrid fruit, with early origins in China. Many say it’s a mix between a mandarin orange and ichang papeda (another citrus). The more you know.
This salad is my celebration of tropical fruit making its way into a leafy green salad and loving it.
I hope you enjoy my Love Salad and get a chance to taste where it was inspired from when in Los Angeles.
