The quickest way I make tofu scramble!

5 ingredients and it takes 7 minutes to make. As many new vegans do, I went head first into tofu when I made the transition. I started to meal-prep breakfast burritos and fell in love with the versatile tofu.

While many of my favorite meals have changed since going vegan, breakfast burritos still remain in my top 10. It’s actually quite easy to breeze over the square tofu. It can be overlooked and disregarded as ‘just a texture’. But what tofu has allowed the world of plant-based cuisine to achieve, is nothing short of beautiful. I look to tofu and feel grateful. For as complicated as things can get, there is beauty in a simple block. One that has been here for time and will probably always be there in the future.

Easy Tofu Scramble

  • 10 oz tofu pressed broken into small pieces.
  • 1 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp plant butter optional


  • Heat a large skillet on low-medium flame
  • Add tofu, all spices and stir to combine
  • Stir for 5-6 minutes, until the tofu has released moisture and turned a golden color
  • Remove from heat and toss in plant butter (if you’re using)
  • Serve warm


Take your tofu block, wrap in a cloth, place on a dish and set a skillet on top – this will press out additional moisture, making the texture even better.
Plant butter is optional for this recipe. If you are using, I suggest Miyokos butter; as it’s palm oil free.
