Better Than Bar Nuts

Toasted nuts and seeds are something special and this spice mix is finger lick worthy.

After soaking my raw nuts and seeds, they’re ready to be used – in so MANY ways..

This recipe helps me pack in extra nutritious calories and healthy fats. On long car rides, rushed out-the-door days and deadline weeks – this snack is wonderful to have at arms reach. Toasted nuts and seeds are something special and this spice mix is finger lick worthy.

Course Snack

  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil*
  • ½ cup Sunflower seeds
  • ½ cup Almonds
  • ½ cup Pepitas (pumpkin seeds)
  • ½ tbsp Salt
  • ½ tbsp Chili powder
  • ½ tbsp Cinnamon powder

Instructions

  • Heat a large skillet on low heat
  • Add the oil to the skillet
  • In a bowl, mix remaining ingredients
  • Transfer mix to skillet
  • Keep a steady stir to prevent them from burning
  • Once they have a nice golden color and are fragrant- remove from heat
  • Set aside to cool and serve!

Notes

Use any high-heat oil to replace olive oil, if needed
I used raw, soaked nuts to improve nutrient absorption.
Never heard of lime crystals? its essentially crystalized lime and a touch of dried cane syrup. feel free to squeeze fresh lime to replace the crystals
Best stored in an airtight container- will keep for 4-5 days
Good luck not eating them all in one day (:
